Pastor Julie will be our Bridge Pastor doing Pulpit Supply preaching until the synod has an Interim Pastor for Agnus Dei.
The Rev. Julie Martin Hutson is an ordained Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. A graduate of Trinity Lutheran Seminary, Pastor Julie received her undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama and has begun work on her Doctorate in Ministry at the University of the South School of Theology & Ministry (Episcopal).
Pastor Julie has served congregations in Ohio and Seattle, WA as a settled pastor, a bridge pastor, and an interim pastor. She has guided congregations in times of transition through both pastoral and consulting services. She has served in a number of synodical leadership positions and on numerous community boards.
Most recently, Pastor Julie served as Director of Contextual and Experiential Formation at Trinity Lutheran Seminary. She also served the seminary as Director of Candidacy, Director of Worship Life, Advisor to Student Life, and adjunct professor. Pastor Julie was born and raised in the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod.
She loves to sing (especially hymns), travel, take not-too-strenuous walks/hikes with her spouse, Bruce, and her grand-dog, and spend time with her family. Family time is what enticed the Hutsons to return to the PNW, when their granddaughter was born in Gig Harbor.
