Liminal space is the space or time that occurs between one thing and another, like the end of a school year or when you move out of one house but before you move into another. The COVID stay-at-home time is liminal space: a time between the way things were and what will be next. Liminal space is often hard because we have given up one routine, but haven't yet established another.

Living as a Christian is to live in liminal space. We recognize that we live between Jesus' ascension and before his return. We are waiting for the world to be what God is creating it to be, but there has already been a seismic shift from what it was.
