Just what IS Christianity about? What does Agnus Dei Lutheran offer you that could change your life?
Christianity is about a relationship with God that transforms our lives here and now. Essentially, it’s about opening our hearts to God and to others. About a way of the heart.
WORSHIP THAT NOURISHES. Regular feeding is needed for a relational and transformational vision of the Christian life. Vibrant worship can lead to a deepening relationship with God. We gather knowing that God wants to come together with us. God speaks to us in scripture, reading, preaching and song. We are in continuous conversation with the Bible as a foundation of our identity and vision. The meal- the Lord’s Supper- feeds us with the presence of Jesus Christ.
God blesses us and sends us in mission to the world. God is God-for-us and all.
Music plays an important part by reminding us of God’s love for us, filling us with joy, hope and resolve. We draw from our rich musical heritage, incorporate works of contemporary writers and musicians, and are enriched by global music from other cultures.
EDUCATION THAT EQUIPS US for living the Christian life. We endeavor to be “the education church.” We offer a preschool with 85 students an extensive three-year confirmation program, children’s Sunday school, an active high school group, adult small group bible studies, and poetry and book groups. Sunday adult forums`in an atmosphere of open and civil discourse on relevant, contemporary, controversial topics help us search out how to be active in love in our every day lives. God is God-with-us as we grow. In fact, we have outgrown our space and are in a building expansion process.
COMPASSION THAT EXTENDS US as we follow Jesus’ vision. Alleviating hunger locally and globally. Offering hope and home clean-out for families devastated by Katrina. Quilts, prison ministry, prayer shawls, environmental and economic justice advocacy, parish nurse ministry and more. Our God is God-within-us.
Our Christian faith is a way of the heart. We heartily invite you to join us.
